Getting here
How to reach the house, turn by turn
The house is on the hillside above Frigiliana, about five kilometres from the old town. Google Maps takes you to the door. Here is the route, what the last stretch is actually like, and what to expect if it has been raining.
By car from Málaga airport
About 55 minutes. No toll roads needed on this route.
- 1 From the airport, take the A-7 east towards Nerja.
- 2 Leave the A-7 at Nerja and follow the signs up to Frigiliana.
- 3 Go through Frigiliana and keep climbing.
- 4 When you reach a greenhouse, turn right.
- 5 Follow the lane to the house.
The last stretch
The final section is surfaced, though not with asphalt. A standard hire car handles it without any trouble, rain included — you do not need a 4x4 and you do not need to arrange anything special. Take it slowly and you will be fine.
What to put into Google Maps
Search for “Casa Rural Frigiliana - El Olivo”, or use the coordinates directly. All of these land on the house itself, not on the village — worth checking, because the old town is around five kilometres away.

Can you get here without a car?
Honestly, no. No bus comes up this far, and walking from the village means several kilometres of mountain road with no pavement. Guests arrive in a hire car or their own. Málaga airport is the practical place to pick one up.
